A Suburb Built Around Business
Excavation contractors in Blue Ash work in a suburb that has as many daytime workers as some cities have residents. Blue Ash had 13,394 residents and 5,851 housing units in 2020 on about 7.6 square miles, but about 55,000 people are there during the day across some 2,000 businesses. It became a village in 1955 and a city in 1961, bordered by I-71, I-275 and the Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway.
From airport to park
The Cincinnati–Blue Ash Airport operated from 1921 to 2012 and was Ohio's first municipal airport after Cincinnati bought it in 1946. When it closed, Blue Ash bought the land and built Summit Park. Large public projects like that are a reminder that ground here has been graded and regraded many times.
Storm history
An F4 tornado struck Blue Ash on April 9, 1999. Storm damage can leave debris, damaged outbuildings and disturbed grades that need cleanup and regrading.
Homes and yards
Residential neighborhoods range from 1950s and 1960s homes to newer infill. Common requests are regrading and drains where clay holds water, pool digs, patio bases and lateral replacement.
Traffic and timing
With so many businesses, roads are busy at rush hour. We schedule hauling to avoid the peaks.
Sycamore-area neighborhoods
Most of Blue Ash is in the Sycamore school district, and its neighborhoods are a mix of midcentury ranches and newer houses. On older lots, mature trees and long-settled grades are common; on newer ones, builder backfill is still settling. Either way, a site visit tells us whether the fix is grading, a drain, a tightline or a new base. Published ranges help with budgeting, but the written estimate after the visit is the price.
